Ferris out as Kidney's troops prepare for South Africa test

Declan Kidney's Ireland squad will train this afternoon without Stephen Ferris who has been ruled out of Saturday's game with South Africa.

The Ulster back row damaged his ankle during Friday's win over Edinburgh.

The 27 year old has also been ruled out of the match against Fiji but maybe available for the game with Argentina.

Kidney has yet to call up a replacement.

Paul O'Connell is still struggling to be fit for the Guinness series but has not yet been ruled out.
