LeBron James (6) lands on forward Mickael Pietrus as he commits his sixth foul to foul out of the game during overtime of Game 4 in their NBA basketball Eastern Conference finals playoffs series in Boston, Sunday, June 3, 2012.
BOSTON ? He's taken last-second shots and he's passed them up. He's made a few, and missed some, too.
LeBron James has never fouled out and had to watch from the bench with a playoff game on the line, though.
James fouled out in overtime of Game 4 of the Eastern Conference finals on Sunday night, and the Boston Celtics went on to beat the Heat 93-91 to send the series back to Miami tied at two games apiece.
Paul Pierce fouled out early in the overtime, and James followed him on a charging call with 1:51 left to play.
The reigning MVP had never fouled out in two seasons with the Heat, and he had never done so in a playoff game in his nine-year NBA career.
